The Support Staff

Mrs Spalding

SEND Co-ordinator

Hello, I'm Mrs Spalding and I am Minterne's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator).

I have had lots of different roles at Minterne - parent volunteer, Teaching Assistant, ICT Teacher, Class Teacher and Y3/Y5 Leader - but the SENCO role is something that I have wanted to work towards for many years.    I am passionate about being a SENCO - it is so rewarding as I really enjoy being able to help the children in our school who might need a little extra support. I love getting to know all of the children that I work with and it is a pleasure to be able to be there to help them.

When I am not in school, you'll often find me at the cinema - I go almost every weekend - you can imagine how excited I was when Sittingbourne's new cinema opened.  My other favourite thing to do is to go camping - I really like the Isle of Wight as there are so many beaches to visit and I try to get there in the summer holidays.

If you see me around at Minterne, I really like to say hello or give a little smile or wave - it brightens my day when children smile back!

Mr Angove

Hi!  I'm Mr Angove!  I have worked at Minterne for around 10 years now in various different roles.  Now, you'll find me tucked away in our brand new ICT suite, teaching the children about Computing and Online Safety.   I'm excited to teach the children how to harness the power of technology, beyond gaming and social media, and how they can use to augment almost anything they hope to achieve.

Mrs Cleverdon-Reed (Formerly Mrs Stephens)

Hello! I am Mrs Cleverdon-Reed. I am currently working in the Pupil Premium team at Minterne alongside Mrs Beach.

I have also worked as a Year 6 & Year 5 teacher in our lovely school and, although I am not classroom based now, sometimes I am lucky enough to cover some of our wonderful teachers’ classrooms.

My favourite hobby is walking and I enjoy taking our mad cocker spaniel, Henry, for long walks by the seaside.

Mrs Beach

Hi!

I’m Mrs Beach, Minterne’s school counsellor. My job is to look after the wellbeing of the children at school. I help the children find the words to express their emotions and get through any difficult times they may be having. My room is full of fun and creative things to do. Talking about our feelings is never boring!

I also run tuition groups for maths and English as you may not know that my first career at Minterne was as a class teacher and I still love to help children learn.

I hope to see you around!

Mrs Boddy

Hello, my name is Mrs Boddy, and I am one of the Office Managers at Minterne.

I have worked at Minterne for nearly 20 years, so I know the school very well.  For 16 of those years, I was a Lead Teaching Assistant and had a wonderful time working with the children.

I have 3 grown up children (who all came to Minterne) and 2 beautiful grandchildren. I moved into the office in 2021 when I went part time to help look after my grandchildren.

When I have some spare time, as well as spending time with my family, I love swimming in the sea, knitting and baking cakes.

Miss Bower

Hi, I’m Miss Bower. I’ve been part of Minterne Junior School for seven years, starting as a receptionist and now working as Office Manager. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a wonderful and welcoming school family. Outside of work I love spending time with my family, camping and taking trips out together.

Mrs Blondrage

Administration Officer

Hello, My name is Mrs Blondrage & I started working in The Office at Minterne Junior School in January 2024 where I have been very much welcomed by both staff & parents.  I previously worked in the NHS where I gained valuable experience working with children & young people over the 5 years that I was there.  Before that I worked on the airlines jet setting to many different countries which I thoroughly enjoyed.

In my free time I like to spend quality time with my husband & two young girls who are 7 & 4, we really enjoy our holidays together & eating fish 'N' chips!

Mrs Glenn

Receptionist

Hello - my name is Mrs Glenn and I have been working at Minterne for a very long time. I have two daughters who came to the school and thoroughly enjoyed their time here. I joined Minterne as a Teaching Assistant and have worked in every year group, and spent many years coaching netball and athletics too. I also taught ICT for a few years! However, a couple of years ago I gave up the classroom to join the team working in the office. I very much enjoy working there and meeting lots of parents and visitors. I will always try to help you if you come to the office, or just say hello when I see you around the school.

I love to read! I also like to watch a good film or listen to music when I'm ironing, because that's a really boring job!
